Mai Po Bird Pin - Common Kingfisher

One of four common species of Kingfisher at Mai Po. They mainly prey on fish, but sometimes also consume flying insects and frogs. It can be found at fish pond, gei wai and be seen all year round. Breeding had been recorded in the Reserve. It often perches on tree branches or posts beside the water edge.
