Their bodies range from bright yellow to deep black – these colours serve as natural camouflage that helps them blend in with their surroundings. Frequently sold in seafood markets as a traditional medicine, they are under pressure from over harvesting and are currently categorised as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
