Snow leopards are listed as 'endangered' in IUCN's Red List. Much of the population decline is attributed to being hunted for their coveted fur, used for coats, and bones, which are used in Chinese medicines. Human conflict is another factor affecting its survival because it is known to kill livestock such as sheep, goats, horses, and yak calves, which snow leopards feed on.
